This work is part of my Homage to Claude Simard series, created in tribute to Canadian artist Claude Simard (1943–2014). His gardens are generous and fearless, blooms layered upon blooms, colour meeting colour without hesitation. That joyful abundance has inspired me for years.

In this piece, I leaned into that same celebratory spirit while keeping the painting firmly in my own voice. Saturated colour, lively layering, and a sense of warmth do the heavy lifting here, like you’ve stumbled onto a hidden garden just beyond reach, vivid, overflowing, and very much alive.
