This piece began a few years back as an exploration of pure colour — layered, saturated, and unapologetically bright. It lived in a bedroom for a time before I pulled it back into the studio for reinvention.

Over time, the painting asked for more.

The figures came later — almost as if they had been there all along, waiting to be revealed. What started as abstraction slowly shifted into something more narrative. The three women formed naturally within the composition, grounded in the colour rather than sitting on top of it. They don’t interrupt the background — they belong to it. The connection between the figures is unspoken but understood. It’s less about who they are, and more about what exists between them.
