This work is part of my Homage to Claude Simard series, created in tribute to Canadian artist Claude Simard (1943–2014). His paintings celebrate fullness — gardens overflowing with blooms, colour layered boldly and without hesitation. That joyful abundance has been a long-time inspiration for me.

The Flower Patch embraces that same exuberant spirit. It’s warm, saturated, and lively, with colour building in layers and small details emerging the longer you look. While the subject nods clearly to Simard’s influence, this piece is painted through my own interpretation, a bright conversation with an artist who helped shape how I think about colour and celebration.
