Some of the most magical moments aren’t found far from home. This scene was captured from our upstairs window — looking out at trees transformed overnight into sculptures of ice and light. The frost clings to every branch, catching and refracting colour across the snow below. It’s a reminder that awe and wonder doesn’t always require travel, sometimes it’s right there beyond the glass.

This work is part of my Hoarfrost Series. There are winter days when everything feels suspended — trees become lacework and light softens. An ordinary walk in my neighbourhood turns extraordinary. The Hoarfrost Series was born from that — stepping outside and sensing, just for a moment, that I was living inside a fairyland. These paintings capture that rare stillness, when our climate wraps the landscape in a magical robe - unlike any other.
