Spending quite a bit of time in South East Asia - I can't tell you how many pictures of lotus blossoms and water lillies I have taken. I love the delicacy of these floating orbs...stretching towards the sun while their leaves and roots entangled below. You may notice that I do not follow strict botanical rules. This painting is one of the Hidden Leaf Collection pieces. I love the leaves of the water lillies - with their notches....and I have given myself artistic licsence to mix flowers with leaves - does it really matter in an abstract floral composition?
