The theatre of an outdoor café awaits its 10 a.m. opening. Bold red umbrellas stretch wide over quiet patio tables, anchored by lush flower beds. This courtyard was made for lingering under the Arizona sun — a small pocket of shade and calm before the heat of the day takes over.

Here, the umbrellas aren’t just shelter. They’re punctuation — vivid marks that ground the structure of tables and chairs and bring the whole scene to life. It’s a place to pause, slow down, and (yes) actually smell the flowers.
