Sunset Series

These works are part of my Sunset Series. Painted in response to the ever-changing skies over Lake of the Woods, this vertical series celebrates the nightly theatre of light we see from our west-facing cottage. Working in acrylic on cradled wood panels with mixed media embellishments, I’ve abstracted silhouetted shoreline trees against shifting skies of chartreuse, orange, pink, and gold. Each panel holds a different mood — not a literal sunset, but the energy of one. Slender and luminous, these pieces stand like visual exclamation marks.
